Once you have downloaded an InfraMarker mobile client (Android App from Google Play or iPhone/iPad App from Apple's iTunes App Store) you are ready to view and edit your InfraMarker projects on your mobile device.
Both Android and iOS InfraMarker applications are almost identical in features and interface. Screen shots in this article are taken from an iPad mini, but they should be relevant to iPhone and Android devices as well.
After login you can select a project:
Selecting a project will opens a Globe view, sync all the datasets related to the project. Pull down the project list to refresh.
Globe View:
In the top left corner of the Globe view is the button to toggle the menu. The menu has following items:
- Projects shows the list of projects available to this user account.
- Table shows the table view of the selected dataset.
- Settings shows the application Settings.
- Logout current user.
- Help shows the Help page in the web browser.
The top right corner of the Globe view has buttons for toggling the Status view and list of datasets.
Status view is the green or orange button that indicates where the InfraMarker application is connected to a server. When in offline mode the button will be orange. Pressing the status view button toggles the Status view with detailed information about current and recent communication with a server.
List of datasets:
If no datasets are selected the list of datasets will appear. Each dataset in the list has a switch to toggle it on or off. When a dataset is active it will be rendered on the map. Tapping on the dataset item in the list will zoom to that dataset. Pull down the dataset list to refresh.
Adding a new record:
To add a new record tap the "+" button in the bottom of the map view. The list of available datasets will appear. Select a dataset for a new record or Start Tracking.
After selecting a dataset for a new record, the geometry mode will be activated. In this mode new geometry can be created either by tapping on the map to add vertices or hitting the "+" button to add a vertex at the current GPS location. The Start Tracking button shows the Tracking view.
Editing geometries on the map is simple. In edit mode, tap on any vertex to move it. You can delete a vertex and add or move a vertex to the device's current GPS location.
- Press the "done" button to go to the record's form to enter the attributes and then to save the record.
- Press the "cancel" button to discard all the changes to the geometry.
Streaming mode: While in the geometry edit mode, hold the "+" button for approximately 2 seconds. This will activate the streaming mode. The "+" button will become the "O" button. In streaming mode the vertices will be added every second using current GPS location. Parameters for streaming mode can be set in the Settings view. While streaming mode is active the mobile device screen can be turned off, and the recording of the geometry will continue in the background.
Stop streaming mode: Press the "O" button to stop streaming and stay in the geometry edit mode. After that the "done" or "cancel" buttons can be pressed to either save the created geometry or discard it.
Managing visible datasets:
Tapping on visible dataset(s) on the map will bring the form of the selected record (feature). If several records are selected a list will appear to resolve ambiguity.
When adding or editing a record you can edit available fields (use the Forms Editor and Schema Editor on the web admin interface to format your forms and configure field input constraints and validation rules).
Photos can be added to any dataset that has a 'photo gallery' included in its schema (see info on our Schema Editor to learn how to add Photo Galleries to your datasets). Just select 'Take Photo' in the edit record view. Likewise, 'View Photos' can be selected when viewing a single record.
Base Layers: Your account comes with satellite and street base layers included, but more can be added using the Base Layers section of the InfraMarker web dash board. Any base layers that you add will be available on your mobile device. (See more on adding Base Layers)
In addition, InfraMarker's globe is 3D and can accommodate your own elevation data. To enable terrain elevation and the tilting of the globe, the Settings view has a switch "Enable Map Tilt and Rotation".
