The biggest battery consumers on mobile device are radio, GPS, and screen.
There are several ways to minimize battery usage on mobile device while using InfraMarker.
When collecting data in the field with less than perfect cellular connection, it is better to switch the InfraMarker application into "Offline mode", or switch device into airplane mode, or turn the Auto Sync off. InfraMarker application can perform data collection without a connection after successful project sync. After data is collected, user can switch the app into online mode and perform sync of the collected data back to the cloud.
When using an external GPS receiver, it is advisable to turn off internal GPS on Android device, or select External GPS in InfraMarker iOS application. More on using External GPS here
Screen is another big consumer of the power on mobile devices. To minimise its impact on the battery life, user can turn off the screen when recording a track, or a geometry in recording mode. The InfraMarker application can record a location while the phone is in suspend mode.
